Thao Nguyen

Senior Community Organizer

Thao Nguyen is a Senior Community Organizer at Advancing Justice-Atlanta. She is responsible for developing, planning and implementing programming for the AANHPI/AMEMSA and immigrant communities, such as culturally responsive political education, queer youth group meetings, and youth activist development. She has extensive work experience in public affairs, community liaison and program development in the nonprofit sector.

At a young age, Thao immigrated to the US from Vietnam with her family and was educated in Atlanta, Georgia. She holds a BA in Psychology and BS in Sociology from Georgia State University.

She understands the importance in political education to create change in the system level to lift the disadvantaged communities and is passionate about promoting equity.

She believes that positivity is very contagious and finds joy in nature and simple, minimalistic things.
