Policy Advocacy
We shape public policy that impacts AANHPI and all immigrant populations in Georgia, working alongside community partners to push back against harmful legislation and fight for a more inclusive Georgia. We believe that basic rights and access to education, health care and mobility should be available to all Georgians across race, ethnicity, language preference, and immigration status.
-
Immigrant Rights and Inclusion
We advocate for policies that protect individuals from being unjustly detained or deported. Core issues include advocating for fair access to citizenship, state drivers’ licenses, and defending against criminalization of immigrants.
-
Voting Rights
We work to proactively advance reforms that make voting more accessible for Asian American and other immigrant communities.
-
Language Access
We support language access at the polls by working with policymakers to provide translated voting materials and interpretation services for voters. We seek to embed language access in other areas of public services and engagement as well.
-
Immigrant Access to Education and Health Care
We believe Georgia’s immigrant residents deserve equitable access to education and health care. Core issues include securing college in-state tuition rates for the state’s undocumented residents and refugees, and removing waiting periods to health insurance for eligible legal permanent residents.
-
Our 2023 Policy Agenda
Our 2023 agenda addresses key issues the immigrant community faces in immigrant rights and inclusion, voting rights, language access, and access to education and health care.
