2024 Community Champions Gala

Our annual Community Champions Gala celebrates and honors the resiliency of our diverse AANHPI communities as well as our renewed recommitment to work for community liberation in the face of overwhelming adversity. This year's theme, "Seasons of Change," captures the transformative spirit of the moment, reflecting the challenges we face and the progress we continue to make together.

Meet Our 2024 Award Recipients

  • Monica Khant

    CEO of the Asian Pacific Institute on Gender Based Violence (API-GBV)

    She offers a unique perspective as an advocate for immigrant rights and gender-based violence in the Southeast. As an immigration attorney and long standing non-profit leader, working in the legal non-profit space for 25 years in New Jersey, Boston and Atlanta, she represented survivors of gender-based violence and immigrants seeking asylum. Ms. Khant currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence (GCADV) and El Refugio and is on the Advisory Board of Raksha.

  • Priyanka Bhatt

    Senior Staff Attorney at Project South

    Priyanka is also a steering committee member of Georgia Detention Watch, an immigrants’ rights coalition, a member of the Georgia Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, and a Board Member of Sur Legal Collaborative, a legal non-profit organization protecting the rights of immigrants in the workplace.
