Atlanta, GA - In light of the 2024 Presidential election results, Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Atlanta (Advancing Justice-Atlanta) reaffirms its unwavering commitment to advancing justice and equality for all communities. This election outcome highlights the urgent need to challenge discrimination and oppression and protect due process, across Georgia and the South. Despite the challenges ahead, our organization remains dedicated to fostering a welcoming, healing, and prosperous state and country for all people.

We continue to believe in the power of a multiracial democracy. Free thought, political expression, and individuals embracing their identity are fundamental tenets of any democracy. They are not threats.

“Advancing Justice-Atlanta stands firmly against the harmful rhetoric and divisive policies that have emerged in this election amplifying what we saw in the prior administration,” said Anjali Nair, Deputy Director of Advancing Justice-Atlanta. “We will continue our work to fight against dangerous language and policies aimed at separating families, scapegoating our communities, and resurrecting past injustices like the Muslim ban.

"Our mission to empower AAPI and other communities of color will be more important than ever as we confront the policies and sentiments that threaten our collective rights," stated Murtaza Khwaja, Executive Director of Advancing Justice-Atlanta. “There are many in our community who are feeling scared and disheartened by the state of the world they live in and the results of this election. To all of you feeling left behind or abandoned, particularly communities of color, we resolve to fight even harder beside you in the days to come to build a better country reflective of our diversity.”
