Advancing Justice-Atlanta applauds nomination of Sameera Fazili as Deputy Director of the National Economic Council

Atlanta, GA — Biden-Harris administration named Sameera Fazili as Deputy Director of the National Economic Council. Advancing Justice-Atlanta’s former board member will be joining the White House with extensive experience from the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and previously serving in the Obama administration as a senior adviser at the NEC and at the Treasury Department.

Sonjui Kumar, Chairperson of Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta issues the following statement:

"We applaud Biden administration's pick of Sameera Fazili as Deputy Director of the National Economic Council. Ms. Fazili's appointment is much needed diversity and expertise needed in the economic policymaking process. As we continue to battle a global health pandemic, with her extensive experience in economic development, we know she will advise the administration for fair and equitable policies''.
