Press Conference: Advancing Justice - AAJC and Advancing Justice - LA Launch New Report on Immigration

Briefing Details the Cost of Recent Policies on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders


Washington, D.C, June 11, 2019 — Washington, D.C. – Advancing Justice | AAJC (Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC) and Asian Americans Advancing Justice-LA and the will present a new report, Inside the Numbers: How Immigration Shapes Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities on June 13, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. The report goes in depth into Asian American and Pacific Islander community demographics, including contributions to the U.S. economy. The report covers immigration pathways, examines what is not working in the current immigration system, and offers recommendations for policy changes to protect the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities and to improve the immigration system.

The event is hosted by the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) and Chair of CAPAC, Representative Judy Chu (D-CA 27th District) is confirmed to speak at the press conference. Immediately following the press conference is a more in-depth briefing with Representatives Mark Takano (CA-41) and Grace Meng (NY- 6), members of the affected organizations, and experts from Advancing Justice | AAJC and Advancing Justice - LA.
