Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old at the time of filing Form N-400, Application for Naturalization.

  • Be a permanent resident (have a “Green Card”) for at least 5 years or 3 years if you adjusted through marriage.

  • Show that you have lived for at least 3 months in the state or USCIS district where you apply.

  • Demonstrate continuous residence in the United States for at least 5 years.

  • Show that you have been physically present in the United States for at least 30 months out of the last 5 years.

  • Be able to read, write, and speak basic English.

  • Have a basic understanding of U.S. history and government (civics).

  • Be a person of good moral character.

Lawful permanent residents interested in applying for naturalization must register to receive assistance.

Join Our Citizenship Application Clinic

  • If you are interested in applying for naturalization, you must register for a clinic date with one of the links below.

  • After registration, a staff member or volunteer will verify your naturalization and clinic eligibility over the phone. All information collected is confidential.

  • If you are eligible for naturalization and for our clinic, you will complete the citizenship application through our online platform.

  • The fee waiver reduces the USCIS filing fee to $0 or $405 for applicants. Eligibility is based on your household income or if you receive certain public benefits. A staff member will complete the fee waiver application over the phone with eligible applicants.

  • After completing the citizenship application, you will meet with a staff immigration advocate to review the application in person. We will provide filing instructions and civics study materials at your appointment.

What to Bring to the Clinic

  • Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)

  • Driver’s License

  • Social Security Card

  • All your passports

  • List of home addresses for the past 5 years and the dates in which you resided at these addresses

  • List of employer names and addresses for the past 5 years, including the dates you worked with each employer

  • List of all countries you have visited for the past 5 years with the exact dates of exit and entry to and from the United States

  • If you have been cited, arrested, detained, or had to appear in court for any reason in the U.S. or abroad, bring all documents relating to the incident including a certified final disposition

  • Certified final court disposition for any traffic tickets

  • If married to a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, bring your spouse’s green card/U.S. passport, marriage certificate and/or divorce decree

  • If you have been married more than once, bring the biographical information regarding your former spouse(s), including their name, date and place of marriage, and date and place of dissolution of marriage

  • If your current spouse has been married more than once, you will need biographical information regarding their previous spouse(s), including their name, date and place of marriage, and date and place of dissolution of the marriage

  • If you have any children, bring their green card, complete name, date of birth, and social security number

  • $725 check or money order made out to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for a filing fee.

  • If you need financial assistance, please bring your most recent tax return and/or evidence of public benefits.

At the clinic, participants will have the opportunity to meet with an immigration attorney to assess their eligibility for any immigration relief or benefits. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide assistance with questions related to employment visas. 

No applications will be completed at the clinic and no attorney-client relationship will be established

  • All passports

  • Driver’s license

  • Green card

  • Social security card

  • Documents related to any citations, arrest, detainment, or appearance in court in the US or abroad

  • Certified final court disposition for any traffic tickets

  • Marriage certificates 

  • Birth certificates for your children

  • Previous applications with immigration

  • Any documents related to your immigration status and history
