Immigration Paralegal

Sonia, an immigration paralegal for Advancing Justice-Atlanta’s legal department, was born and raised in a vibrant multicultural neighborhood in New Jersey. However, when she moved to the south, particularly Georgia, she experienced a cultural shock as she realized the challenging narrative for immigrant communities. Sonia has previously held various positions in private law firms. She has a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, a concentration in Legal Studies, and dual certifications in  Latin American and Paralegal Studies. As the daughter of Salvadorian parents and exposed to the community's difficulties, her experience has fueled her passion for serving within her capabilities. This passion has led her to years of community service, interpretation, mentoring, and networking.
