Advancing Justice-Atlanta and Allied Groups to Speak against Anti- Immigration Legislation


NORCROSS, GA , March 1, 2016 — On Wednesday, March 2nd at 10:00 a.m., Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Atlanta, the Latin American Association, the Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights, the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials, and the Georgia Budget & Policy Institute will hold a press conference to raise their voice against anti-immigrant legislation at the Capitol and the negative impact it will have on their communities and on the state as a whole.

Currently moving at the Capitol are a trio of mean-spirited, anti-immigrant bills. They are Senate Bill 6, Senate Resolution 675, and House Bill 781.

The press conference will feature labor leaders, immigration advocates, and community partners who will speak on issues of special concern to Asian American and other immigrant communities. Speakers include (in alphabetical order):
