Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Atlanta provides a range of free and low cost immigration legal services to refugees, asylum seekers, immigrants, and migrants in Georgia. Our multilingual staff provides immigration legal services to help eligible persons and their families obtain legal status and citizenship and provides legal representation in removal proceedings. In addition, the Legal Services Program collaborates with various community partners and immigrant rights organizations to hold free legal workshops and community education programs in Georgia.
Our immigration legal services program offers affordable representation in the following types of immigration cases:
• Family-based applications
• Adjustment of Status
• Renewal of Lawful Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
• Removal of Conditions on Permanent Residence
• Naturalization and Citizenship
• Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
• Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS)
• Immigrant Visa Petitions under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)
• Other Humanitarian Based Applications, including Temporary Protected Status and applications on behalf of victims of criminal activity and victims of human trafficking
Fees for our legal services are assessed on a sliding scale based on household income. We screen all clients to determine eligibility for fee waivers.
In addition, our removal defense team provides free immigration legal services to detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings. Services include: representation in immigration court on bond and parole, requests for stays before the Department of Homeland Security, and other applications for relief.

In partnership with local community-based organizations and our partners in Atlanta’s New Americans Campaign, Advancing Justice - Atlanta hosts free citizenship application workshops, where our staff and volunteers evaluate eligibility for citizenship, provide assistance to complete citizenship applications, and, for eligible applicants who cannot afford the filing fee, prepare fee waiver requests.
